Setting my goals high

I have to get my Spanish to the same point that my German is now (low intermediate) and I have a year to do it, I have my own tutor who is helping me to reach my goals and I am buying the teach yourself book to work on over the Summer, but I think that I can exceed my goals by using a few methods that I have personalised, its mainly Steve's idea's about immersion, however I will be slightly editing these methods to something that I feel more comfortable with, here's how its going to work:
I will be taking a lesson in lingQ (intermediate 1 lesson) even though I am only a beginner
I will look through it and copy it all by hand into my Spanish notebook
I will read through it and see what I can understand
I will take 10-20 new words out of it and use those words in an original writing piece
Then I will go back to the lesson and take another 10-20 words
I will repeat this process and then I will go to the English section of lingQ and find the same lesson in English
I will read it and then try to translate it into Spanish as best as I can
I will then listen to the Spanish lesson several times and hopefully the new words will be left in my head

I really hope that through this method I will be able to take myself to the intermediate level and with hard work I think I could be at the intermediate one level in 6-12 months
